My research:

I work on the CMS experiment. My main analysis is a search for Higgs boson pair production. I also work on Smart Pixels (on-detector ML for the CMS pixel readout) and on agentic AI workflows for physics analysis.

My expertise is:

Python-based columnar HEP analysis, scaling work out with Dask on Kubernetes-backed analysis facilities, and the glue engineering between grid sites, batch systems, and notebooks.

A problem I’m grappling with:

Keeping a multi-year analysis reproducible while the software stack underneath it keeps moving.

I’ve got my eyes on:

GPU-accelerated analysis, and what HL-LHC data volumes will do to our current workflows.

I want to know more about:

Performance engineering: profiling, vectorization, and making Python actually fast.
