Marianat27My research:
My research focus is on J/ψ photo and electroproduction near threshold, using the CLAS12 detector at Jefferson Lab.
My expertise is:
Experimental nuclear physics, with a focus on cross-section extraction, ROOT/C++ and Python analysis, machine learning for particle identification, and Monte Carlo production.
A problem I’m grappling with:
Optimizing my analysis codes for speed, scalability and reproducibility.
I’ve got my eyes on:
Figuring out how to integrate machine learning into my analysis beyond particle identification, for example to better understand and characterize backgrounds in order to improve background suppression, and in systematic uncertainty estimation.
I want to know more about:
Parallel computing and neural networks, from the fundamentals to hands-on tools and best practices.
