I am in my final year of my Ph.D. in experimental nuclear physics at Florida International University. My research focuses on the electroproduction of doubly strange baryons, known as cascade ($\Xi$) hyperons, using the CLAS12 detector at Jefferson Lab. By measuring differential cross sections over a broad kinematic range, I aim to better understand the mechanisms responsible for strange baryon production and to provide new insights into the non-perturbative regime of Quantum Chromodynamics. My work combines large-scale data analysis, Monte Carlo simulations, detector studies, and statistical techniques to extract physics observables from experimental data.

A problem I’m grappling with:
Applying radiative corrections (that are currently in an old Fortran code) into a C++ event generator I built for my reaction channel.

I want to know more about:
Parallel programming, how AI and machine learning can improve particle identification, and a stronger overall understanding of machine learning methods and their applications in experimental nuclear physics.
