My research:

I am working on search for Vector-like Quarks in the 2HDM framework. I am part of the ATLAS collaboration based at CERN. My analysis looks at a complex 6 b-jet final state with 4 BSM particles - 2 VLQs and 2 heavy higgs

My expertise is:

I have worked on the gFEX offline monitoring framework that is used to assess data quality at L1Calo trigger system level during the active running of the ATLAS experiment. Additionally I work with MC generation and analysis framework development

A problem I’m grappling with:

The final state for the analysis is a 6 b-jet. b-jets can be difficult to identify and we use b-taggers to identify them. However, these do not have a perfet efficiency. Reconstructing VLQs and heavy higgs from the jets is a complicated and time consuming. Currently, I am wotrking with SPANet to perform reconstruction

I want to know more about:

ML modelling and its use in the high-energy physics. The effect of hyper-parameters on the performance of the ML model.
